AARE MAYEGUN OF OWU KINGDOM PLEDGES SUPPORT FOR OGUN RATTAWU 2026, ORDERS IMMEDIATE ASSESSMENT OF PROPOSED PROJECT SITE
The Committee for the forthcoming "Ogun RATTAWU 2026: The Bridge Between the Government and the Governed" recorded a major milestone during a courtesy visit to the Aare Mayegun of OWU KINGDOM, Chief Dr. Kazeem Bakinson, at his residence in Abeokuta.
The visit, which was marked by fruitful deliberations, formed part of the committee's stakeholder engagement ahead of the much-anticipated event. Discussions focused on the vision of Ogun RATTAWU 2026, its role in strengthening the relationship between the government and the people, and the importance of collaboration in advancing the welfare of media professionals and society at large.
Demonstrating his commitment beyond words, Chief Dr. Kazeem Bakinson took an immeasurable step towards supporting the proposed project. Immediately after listening to the committee's presentation, he directed members of his engineering team to accompany the delegation to inspect the proposed project site with a view to commencing its facelift. He assured the committee of his readiness to facilitate the immediate rehabilitation of the project, a gesture that was warmly applauded by members of the delegation.
Speaking during the meeting, the respected philanthropist and community leader reiterated his long-standing support for media practitioners. He recalled his cordial relationship with the Lagos State branch of the Radio, Television, Theatre and Arts Workers' Union (RATTAWU), emphasizing that he has always maintained a media-friendly disposition. He expressed his desire to establish a similar partnership with the Ogun State Council of RATTAWU, stressing that continuous engagement with media professionals is essential for promoting development, transparency, and public enlightenment.
Chief Bakinson also commended the vision behind Ogun RATTAWU 2026, describing it as a laudable initiative capable of bridging the gap between the government and the governed while fostering meaningful dialogue among stakeholders.
The committee expressed profound appreciation for the warm reception, the invaluable words of encouragement, and, most importantly, the immediate practical steps taken by Chief Bakinson towards the proposed project.
